AFGS History

The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show was started in 1992 by a small group of professionals with an interest in promoting horticulture in Arkansas.  This group organized the first show and filed all of the paperwork needed to establish The Arkansas Flower & Garden Show, Inc. as an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  The show has been held every year since that time in downtown Little Rock, usually in late February.  The Show is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of 14 members.  The show has five partners including The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service, Arkansas Farm Bureau, Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs, Arkansas Florist Association, and The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener Program.
